Of course this is the classic Scrabble game, so if one enjoys the game, you can't go wrong there.But I grew up accustomed to a board with a plastic overlay that kept the tiles in place, and it surprises me that anyone would think of still manufacturing a plain paper board on which the tiles can shift around so easily. If you are not extremely careful when turning the board to the next player at the table, the tiles can become a mess. You might want to plump for a fancier version that has the plastic framework.I just wanted a scrabble game. When I started looking for the game on Amazon, I was blown away by how many versions of the game there are. Some were so expensive!! I settled on this one and I'm really happy I did. It is just scrabble, plain and simple, no frills. I'm happy!Product did not come with wooden holders, they are plastic. :-(Who doesn't love Scrabble? I have another one that spins around, prefer it but this one travels better. This is a great family game. Kids have no clue they are sharpening spelling and vocabulary skills. Too bad they always get the Z & Q!!Only reason I took off 1 star is because the board is small! Otherwise, it was like the old days! Most pieces were the same as they used to beMy youngest son loves board games. And requested Scrabble for Christmas.This version has the option of playing several different versions. We've only played the traditional version so far.The pouch for the storing the tiles is very handy. Though one of the "A" tiles managed to "escape" for a short while.I recommend this highly.I carefully read the other reviews and description. I returned it because it is not what was described. I expected the "new" original Scrabble manufactured by Milton Bradley, a similar version to what I had as a kid in the late 70s/early 80s. The set that was delivered was the NEW Hasbro set that you can buy at your local Target for less than $20. Don't waste your money paying an extra $7 for the same set you can get elsewhere. (Incidentally, I ended buying an original gently used 1948 Scrabble set on ebay for $32.)I doubt that this review will actually be posted, as it is my third attempt for this product, but here it goes. The game arrived with the letter tiles loose in the box and 5 of them were missing. One letter rack was also missing. Scrabble is a great game, I play it lots, but this product was not a game that could actually be played due to all the missing pieces.
